Message: I will be in site 30, Bay Camps, close to the Beach Trail.  I reserved Oct 10-13.  I'll probably leave on the 12th, but got the night of the 12th so that I can hang out at the beach longer.



I'm intimidated by your surfing and paddling ability.  However, I may overcome this if conditions look smallish for Oct, or at least on the manageable side.  I can't remember why I didn't go in last year.  It might have been too big.  I may escape to Capitola for a few sessions if Manresa looks sketchy for me and my son.  I went out at Manresa two weeks ago and had fun.  However, it was small.



I did go out in East SC this morning and had fun.   Again, conditions were small and the waves were moving slowly.



I'll probably bring all soft boards.

Maverick's Documentary Screening Sunday in San Mateo History Museum

Bay Area big-wave surfer Grant Washburn will screen his documentary "Maverick's" Sunday at the San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City. Maverick's, just off the coast at Pillar Point near Half Moon Bay, is a surf break where 40-foot waves attract some of the best and most daring big-wave surfers in the world. Released in 1998, the 55-minute documentary was a seven-year project and is revered as a classic by surfers. Amazing Holiday Swells Not Given Up! Oh what a holiday weekend this was. Many StokeMaster board members have enjoyed, and too some "got too much" fun on the NW long period swells that started around Thanksgiving day.
